In this song Big Daddy Weave reminds us that the only Name that matters is ‘JESUS’; echoing what apostle Paul tells us in Acts 4:11-12: “This is the Stone which you builders, set aside. It is now the head Corner Stone of this building. Hence it is not possible to escape the punishment of sin through any other name. For there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we can be saved.”
Our commitment to follow Christ should be a lifelong undertaking. But sometimes we need encouragement to help us along the way. Because as humans we are prone to making decisions that are often not in our best long-term interests.
Back in Biblical Days, God uses the prophet Isaiah as a mouthpiece, to encourage and educate the people. In Isaiah 41, and verse 10 God offered the people words of encouragement. It was at a time when the people were going through tough times from the hands of the king of Assyria. The people had grown impatient with God. They thought He was not answering their prayers for freedom. Many of them had lost their way. But through the prophet, Isaiah, God was able to get His message through to the people. He reminded them that He was still their God. And His promises to them holds.
“Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand”, (Isaiah 40:10).
