Sometimes we are faced with overwhelming situations that require great courage, but instead of facing our giant we wave the white flag. Then, we walked away from such circumstances feeling dejected and abandoned. So, we blame God.
Lack of courage can be the difference between success and failure
Goliath, the Philistine giant, was a brute of a man. People everywhere feared him. A mere glimpse at this giant caused soldiers to shake in their boots. No one dared to face him. In one encounter with the Philistine army, the entire Israeli army surrendered without raising an arm.
Then came a scrawny teenage shepherd boy named David. He would challenge and defeat Goliath. David might have been naive, but he was confident that the God who helped him defended his sheep from predators would help him fight Goliath. All David needed to do was to find the courage to challenge and duel a man many times his size.
Friends, often, it’s not the size of our problem that is setting us back. It is our lack of courage and our defeatist attitude.
