God doesn’t need you to defend Him

Christian encouragement

It shouldn’t surprise you to learn that God does not need you to defend Him or even apologize for Him. All He wants you to do is represent Him. So, go out there and be that beacon on the hill. And let your light shine.

1Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Matthew 5:16–Bible Gateway (KJV)

A Prayer for today

Let us pray

Heavenly Father, faith in your holy Word is not only the way to wisdom but also the way to salvation. Help me to comprehend your divine plan for me so that I will seek to grow in your ways.

Let me not be vain or self-righteous. Remove the darkness from my path and the scales from my eyes that I may see your deeds clearly and strive to replicate them. Help me to train my ears to the sound of your Clarion; so that my every action will be according to your direction.

Let there be a yearning in me to live an exemplary life; so that the world will see and recognize the love of your Son Jesus, as it shines through me. Amen.

Hallelujah

A King is born

Emmanuel has come–Don Moen

Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod, the king, behold, wise men (Magi) from the East came to Jerusalem, saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.”
And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary, His mother, and bowed down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Behold, a King is born
