Give thanks unto the Lord, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people.
What are you most thankful for (today)?
It is another Thanksgiving Day, and as usual, I am excited. All across America people are visiting family and friends to celebrate the big day. There is going to be lots of eating and drinking and merrymaking.
But, amidst all that eating and drinking, I encourage you to pause awhile and think about how fortunate we all are to live in the USA. Despite of its problems, and there are many, it is good a time as any to be an American.
Naturally, It would not be Thanksgiving Day if I did not put a ‘thank you’ list together. There are so many things to be thankful for. The world would run out of paper and ink by the time I am through jotting down my blessings. Nevertheless, number one on my list is “spared life.”
I thank God for keeping me alive. Being alive with all my faculties intact means I have another chance to prepare for the Bridegroom. God has given me more than my fair share of chances to prepare for His appearing. Therefore, if He comes today and I am not ready; I have no one to blame but myself.
I thank God for my family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, my employer, and all those people whom I come in contact with on a daily basis. And last but not least, you, my friends in the blogosphere. You mean more to me than you will ever know. I pray the good God above will continue to bless and keep you.

When I moved to Waco in 1986, I started attending a Bible study group led by a guy named Ken Dulany. I’m thankful for his leadership of the group and how this has impacted my Christian walk. Ken and his wife Lori are now missionaries in Ethiopia.

You have never gotten caught up with the buzz of the moment or the social issue of the day. You have always stayed true to your cause–encouraging others and spreading the gospel. I do not know what to say, Noel. Your kindest of words humble me, and; a mere thank you seems so pale by comparison.
As for my being amazing? For this I do not even acknowledge for I am but a lowly servant of God. It is He who amazes and works great wonders. Not I.
There are many, Noel, who labor far greater than I and I would not be worthy to carry their jacket. Yet, I deliver unto you this day a message; ”
As in the days of Paul, Timothy and Matthew, we should pray for our brothers’ and sisters’ in Christ Jesus. Writing letters (posts) of encouragement, as those before us, so they remain strong in their work for Christ and His Church. So that their work is thought not in vain and they are given courage and strength to push onward.”

“Thank you Noel”… SO BEAUTIFUL! I pray Love & the Lord’s continued multitude of blessings and favor to you my friend, all the year through & year after year… “HAPPY THANKSGIVING!”
I am THANK”FULL”… I seek first the Lord, His kingdom & righteousness and find myself eternally grateful for the honor of His presence. I know that if I look for Him and ask, seek, and knock like crazy for His Holy Spirit… I will find Him [because I am already found by Him]. And from this place everything else is “covered by Him”.
I am so very THANKFUL for all of it… which includes in my life – the good, the bad, and the sometimes really ugly. And even through the worst of times, if I had not had the privilege of going without, experiencing hunger, thirst, walking through the valleys [of the shadow of death], been cast out, abandoned, kicked to the curb and left for dead [by the preacher[s] and the Christians], or left completely alone [barely together]…I never would have known true love & understood humility, submission, true desperation, the priorities of real life, a focus & trust on what matters most [God]; nor would I have embraced so great a need & love for my Savior [who continues to hold me to this very day]. I take Him very personal. We are tight now… “THANK YOU JESUS!”
