Do you lack humility?

As Christians, we never talked about humility. Perhaps, because it’s not cool, or maybe because the world sees humility as a sign of weakness. Everybody wants the next person to see him or her as having a strong or exaggerated sense of power. Anything less is unacceptable to the world.

But Christians cannot live their lives according to the world’s standard. Of course, we are not going to ignore its laws, but our morals and principles should be God-centered. Frankly, Jesus demands Humility from His followers. It is an essential characteristic of the authentic Christian.jesusfeeds5000story[1]

So, one day, while hanging out with friends, Jesus’ disciples came to Him, and asked: ““Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”
Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become like little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven, (Matthew 18:1-4).

No one can enter the kingdom of heaven without having and displaying humility here on earth. So, if you lack humility, start practicing. There is no place for the proud in heaven. James 4:6 says: “The Lord opposes the proud and gives mercy to the humble.”

When should you trust God?

When should you trust God?
God expects His children to trust Him and be sincere about it. Not just when their backs are up against a wall but also when things are going well for them. Not just when they have been laid off from their jobs but also when they are climbing the corporate ladder.

Unfortunately, not many people remember, or, even care to trust God when they are twirling around in an economic bubble, or when committed relationships are at their high-water marks. However, as soon as their situation heads south and one feels helpless, or perhaps, hopeless, the need to trust God suddenly appears enticing.

Friends, do not forget this, trusting God only when it seems cool or when one’s back is against a wall is a dangerous practice. It is akin to a soldier waiting until he or she gets caught in a cross-fire before putting on the armor.

Let’s suppose the prophet, Daniel waited until the guards threw him into the fiery furnace or the den of hungry lions before he starts trusting God. What do you surmise would have happened to him? Do you think the Book of Psalm would have existed today if the scrawny young David had waited until he confronted Goliath to trust God? Not a chance. Instead, David challenged and defeated that beast of a man with confidence. Knowing in his heart that the God in whom he trusted, and who helped him kill a lion and a bear with his bare hands, would once again come to his rescue.

So, despite the critics, good things happen when people trust God, but we must be consistent.  And, yes, sometimes weeping endure for a night but be assured joy will come in the morning. The Psalmist David said it best: “Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires.
Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you. He will make your innocence radiate like the dawn, and the justice of your cause will shine like the noonday sun” (Psalm 37:4-6).

Oh come Emmanuel

Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign: Behold, a virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel, (Isaiah 7:14).

But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. 6 And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!” 7 So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God, (Galatians 4:4-7).

Human beings are like fading flowers today they are fresh and blooming, tomorrow they wither away. The Bible refers to us as grass. “For, “All people are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, (1 Peter 1:24).
