Fading flower

Human beings are like fading flowers today they are fresh and blooming, tomorrow they wither away. The Bible refers to us as grass. “For, “All people are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, (1 Peter 1:24).

  1. Love it Noel! I had forgotten about this Scripture and as I looked at the rose and saw the “wrinkles” in it, I realized that is just how we fade out too! Excellent photo to bring the point of your post home! God Bless, SR

    1. Indeed! SR, sometimes we forget we are mortals. I have wanted to write a post, but I could not decide on a subject matter until I picked up a vase of faded flowers my wife had on a coffee table. I was heading for the rubbish bin to dump them when the Spirit reminded me that humans are like the faded flowers I was about to discard. He also reminded me that those faded flowers were once fresh and blooming.

SR, the purpose the Scripture in the post is to remind us that we do not have a lot of time to make it right with God. Before we know it, our time will run out. And that’s the reason Jesus begs us to seek first the Kingdom of God and its righteousness before everything else.

Thanks so much for your comment, friend. God bless.

  2. Hey Noel,

I have thought about this comment and want you to do me a favor if you will. I have never asked this of anyone regarding their post, but could you write a post on what it means to “get it right with God?” I have thought about that statement a lot, and I know some of the in’s and out’s of it, but what does it truly mean, Noel?

I know we cannot be perfect, no matter our efforts. I know we fail no matter how hard we try not to. What do you think it means for us to get it right, with Him? Just some more of my thoughts I would like your input on. God Bless, SR

      1. Take your time, how I understand about Christmas! It was just something I wondered about, and thought you could probably explain it better than anyone! 🙂 God Bless, SR

  3. Noel, I really like the photography and the verse. It is so true. When one reaches the age I have reached, life itself is a constant reminder. I like these verses also: Psalms 103:13-13 As a father shows compassion to his children, so the LORD shows compassion to those who fear him.
For he knows our frame; he remembers that we are dust.
